NEVERS, Antoine Montagnon 

Earthenware mantel set with polychrome gold enamel decoration on a blue background.

It includes a clock topped by a putto holding a bird, the white enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, railway for the minutes, under the dial a painted decoration in reserve of a castle (Porte du Croux in Nevers), cherubs on the banks of a river, the quadripod base ending in windings.


Two earthenware vases mounted in gilt bronze in the Louis XVI style, the handles in mascaron, the belly decorated with scenes of cherubs on a background of landscape in reserve, the base in gilt bronze with laurel leaf decoration and four scrolling feet.
Marked on the back with the green bow and the monogram AM.
Circa 1880.
Clock: height 55 cm, width 35 cm, depth 14 cm.
Vases : height 31 cm.
The clock will be serviced by a professional clockmaker.
