Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) and Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) were two French designers of the "Votre Maison" brand, a famous furniture and interior design workshop of the 1950s.
Guillerme graduated from the Ecole Boulle in 1940 and then became an architect and interior designer for Rogier. As for Chambron, he graduated from the Ecole des Arts Appliqués in Reims in 1938 and then became a decorative painter in his own workshop.
The two men met after the war and created their own company "Votre Maison" where each had a specific role: Guillerme designed, Chambron took care of the commercial side and Emile Dariosecq, a cabinetmaker, made the furniture.
Success was rapid and they created a wide variety of furniture using materials and techniques characteristic of the house, such as waxed oak, a light shade of wood or a dark shade obtained using iron oxide.
The armchairs and sofas are made to the same design with worked backs, waxed wood and a thick cushion for the seat.
In the 1970s, the company was taken over by Chambron's son, who subsequently produced his own designs.
