antiquity description

Copy of the Promenade, mille fleurs tapestry from the Musée de Cluny.
A lord and three ladies stroll along, followed by a young page.
The ladies are dressed in the costume common in France in the early 16th century, and are adorned with rich jewelry, mainly with chain motifs, in vogue at the time.
The dress of the young woman in the middle features a detail imported from Italy: slit sleeves revealing more delicate linen.
The lord, holding a gourd bearing the coat of arms of France, wears loose-fitting, mid-length garments and ox-toe shoes.
Beautiful floral border.
In the taste of the 16th century.
Circa 1880.
Height 190 cm, width 245 cm.
Delivery possible.
