Beautiful pair of Louis-Philippe mahogany chairs.
The back is openwork with two carved bars under a slightly curved entablature.
Opposite double-curved hocked front legs, saber-shaped back legs.
Seats with removable cushions upholstered in floral velvet.
Stamped Veuve Grange et Bétout.
Circa 1840.
Seats to be relined and reupholstered, old reinforcements.
Seat height 45 cm, back 89 cm, width 45 cm, seat depth 39 cm.
Grange (Veuve) et Bétout.
Manufacturers of seating and salon furniture, established at 95 Faubourg du Temple, Cour-de-Bretagne, in 1840 and 1841.
