Superb Consulat period bed in mahogany.
Beautiful flame mahogany sheath legs on casters.
Rich ornamentation of gilded and patinated bronzes, finely chiselled.
On the uprights: busts of Egyptian women, cassolettes, chutes, quivers with winged lions and lion's heads in medallions.
On the crosspiece: dragons facing each other around a winged mask with palmette.
Varnished with a stamp.
Rare model, to be compared with the work of Jacob Desmalter for the bed of Napoleon at the Château de la Malmaison.
Around 1800.
Height: front legs 134 cm, back legs 142 cm.
Width : 202 cm.
