Large oil on canvas signed and dated.
In a gilt frame Regency style.
Size without frame : 87 cm x 115 cm.
Dimensions with frame: 113 cm x 141 cm.

Clovis TERRAIRE (1858-1931) :
Painter of genre scenes, animated landscapes, landscapes, waterscapes. Clovis TERRAIRE painted many landscapes of the surroundings of his city and the region: the Bugey and Bresse, the Dauphiné, the Haute Savoie and Switzerland. He excels at rendering the grey haze of the banks of the Rhône and Saône rivers under subdued lighting. He is also an animalist, specialising in grazing cows. Clovis TERRAIRE exhibited at the Lyon and French Artists' Salons in Paris and won the Rosa-Bonheur prize in 1927.
