An important pair of Louis XVI style two-light sconces in gilt and chased bronze.
The shaft is adorned with filleted flutes and laurel garlands and topped by a fire pot urn.
The arms are chased with acanthus leaves and fluted bobeches.
Beautiful gilding, after a model by Jean-Louis Prieur.
Circa 1880.
Height 44 cm, width 30 cm.
Similar models are in the Louvre Museum, the Musée des Arts
Arts Décoratifs in Lyon, the Württembergisches Landesmuseum in
Stuttgart, and the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
