Important pair of ormolu sconces, finely chased.

Openwork body with palmettes, fleurons and acanthus leaves.

Two strangled foliage arms.

Bobèches with fleurons and gadroons, vases with lanceolate leaves.

Bases with masks of bearded men, scrolls and falls.

Matt and gloss gilding.

Signed H.Vian.

Around 1880.

Height 52 cm, width 35 cm, depth 23 cm.

Recent electrification.

 Henri Vian (1858-1904), bronzemaker.

He took part in the Universal Exhibitions of 1878, 1889 and 1900, winning a gold medal in 1889.
He designed the railings for Villa Arnaga, Edmond Rostand's residence in the Basque country. 

He also worked at the Ritz Hotel in London and at the Cour des Comptes on rue Cambon.
His stores were located at 5, rue de Thoriny in Paris, in the Hôtel Salé, which today houses the Musée Picasso and the École des métiers d'art.
