Beautiful Transition Louis XV-Louis XVI style chest of drawers in mahogany and marquetry. 

It opens in front to five drawers without rail on three rows.

Raised front and sides, four cambered legs with sabots.

Extensive marquetry work: rhombuses, fillets, grecques and fluting.

Richly decorated with gilded bronzes: 

- Pull handles with imbricated laurel leaves, pearls and rosettes.

- Tied ribbon, leaf and pearl escutcheons.

- Apron with acanthus leaves, fluting and water drops.

- Antique-style corner scrolls: posts, garlands of laurel leaves, flat fluted columns with asparagus tips and acanthus leaves.

Breche violette marble top, oak frame.

Work from the Faubourg Saint-Antoine in the taste of a great 18th-century maker.

Around 1950.
