A handsome secretary in blackened wood inlaid with fillets, flowery foliage, birds and butterflies.
It opens on the front with three drawers and a flap.
Inside, three curved drawers in rosewood, sycamore and elm burr.
Gilt-edged leather top, chased lock.
Gilt bronze ornamentation: drop drawer handles, stylized lock escutcheons, mouldings with friezes of leafy ovals and hearts.
Ringed toupie legs, inlaid white marble top.
Circa 1880.
Height 135 cm, width 72 cm, depth 38 cm.
