Charming lady's secretary in rosewood, boxwood, beech, rosewood, tulipwood and walnut veneer.
It opens with a drawer, a flap and two doors.
The flap reveals a blackened wood interior with four drawers and a green leather top (used) edged with gilding.
Important marquetry work: fillets, checkerboards, flowers in spandrels, medallion with antique-style vase.
Cut-panel mounts inlaid with fluting.
Bronze ornamentation: falls, fleurons, lock escutcheons with pearls, laurels and knotted ribbons, pearl friezes, leafy sabots, apron with acanthus and dentils.
Breche marble top with inverted cavet.
Fir wood frame, stamped varnish.
Late 18th century.
