Magnificent rosewood desk and armchair set.
Semicircular top with curved interior and symmetrical veneer.
Four and five flat drawers on the front, rounded on the back.
Gilded bronze ornamentation:
- octagonal lock escutcheons.
- piqueted footrest.
- legs with curved lamellar friezes.
The armchair is upholstered in studded leather, the front legs are ringed with gilt bronze sabots, the rear legs are curved.
The interior bronzes are numbered and signed K for Christian Krass.
Oak frame, pad varnished.
High-quality furniture, similar to the work of Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann (see photo).
Circa 1930.
Desk: height 76.5 cm, width 159 cm, depth 80 cm.
Armchair: seat height 50 cm, backrest 77 cm, width 61 cm, depth 60 cm.
